Karl Badger: Crispi Boots

CRISPI Boots has a special discount offer on their boots for Top Rated Guides. To receive your Code, just email me at kbadger@ypc.net. I recently wore a pair of CRISPI Hunter Boots on a Wyoming elk hunt and found these boots to be just about the best piece of foot-gear that I've ever hiked in. CRISPI www.crispiusa.com is an Italian Boot Manufacturer, who is launching their technical boots in the U.S specifically for professional guides and extreme hunters.

Elk hunting, especially in the Wilderness of Wyoming, can be brutal and very physical. Especially on your feet, ankles and knees. A bad boot can quickly transmit itself into a bad hunt.

Crispi BootsThe area I hunted in was big, steep, unforgiving and can only be accessed by horse and then on foot. Day one of my hunt was made up of one long horse ride, which oddly enough is where I first felt one of the benefits of these great boots. Standing in stirrups for an extended period of time, is similar to standing on a ladder rung. Usually when I turn in at night from the first days ride, I’ll get cramping in the arches of my feet. This is the first time I didn’t have that problem and I can only attribute it to the superior platform of the Hunter Boot.

After reaching camp, the remaining days were spent hiking and climbing. This was a pure Western workout, that took us high above timberline. Along the way, the terrain we bushwacked through was a mix of deadfall in dark timber and steep talused slopes. Not once in 7 days of hunting in these conditions did I roll an ankle, slip, have my feet slide out from underneath me, develop a blister or feel fatigued.

Later in the week, when the weather turned from Indian Summer to mid January with blizzard conditions, these boots proved to be completely water repellant and comfortably warm. Additonally, the traction they gave me on icy rocks and fallen tree’s was unlike any boot that I have ever worn. The Vibram sole’s of the CRISPI Hunter, has a combination of 3 different elements that give the boot a special –“grip”.

Again, go to the CRISIPI web site and take some time to study the technical benefits of these boots and you’ll see why I’m giving them my personal endorsement. While I didn’t put an elk on the ground this year, I came away from this Wild West Adventure with another trophy to brag about....my CRISPI Hunting Boots.

Truly a boot for the Extreme Hunter.

CRISPI IS OFFERING WHOLESALE PRICING FOR GUIDES AND OUTFITTERS. Email me at kbadger@ypc.net for the details on this special offer.
