The Gear Guide

Karl BadgerDear Guides and Outfitters:

Below are some of the first Gear Recommendations for 2011. As in the past, these manufactures are inviting you to research their products and then share your user experiences with clients and other Professionals.  Remember that much of what you see here can be purchased at Outfitters discounts. Finally, our Face Book page is being launched this month, and I want to invite everyone to join us. Keep an eye out for your invitation.

As Always, Gear Up and Get Out.

Havalon Knives
I used a Havalon knife last hunting season to cape a Wyoming Muley and found it to be one of the best tools I’ve ever used. These knives are surgically sharp, light weight and have replaceable blades.  Havalon knives can be purchased at Sportsman’s Warehouse. When you visit their web site,  make sure you subscribe to the Havalon Post and E-List.  Not only will you receive some valuable information; but you might also become eligible for a free set of knives.

GoMotion

Nikon and their new Liv’n the Dream interactive video is both informative and entertaining.

Madison Creek

Madison Creek Outfitters
“Because Elk Don’t Live In Ugly Places” and Outfitters need to occasionally change their clothes.  Madison Creek has a line of products that will help reflect your lifestyle; at trade shows, banquets and when you’re greeting the new guests.

Traditions Soups from Mary and Maggie are the most hearty and tasty soups that I’ve ever eaten.  Their selections are nourishing and easy to prepare.  My favorites thus far are the 3 cheese, Beef Barley and Chili.  These soups can stand on their own as a complete meal, or can supplement a lunch and dinner menu. Fill your pantry and packs with these soups… your clients and guests will be glad you did.

Knockout Decals offers some great products for the impulse buyer.  Their Hitch covers and License Plate Frames, are displayed in functional display racks that will put some extra denero in your cash register.

The Smokeless Holster

The Smokeless Holster is another unique product for impulse buyers. Every guy and gal that “chews” needs to holster their tins.  The design of these holsters are both functional as well as fashionable.

RW Rope

First Lite was conceived from the simple principle that Merino wool works, it keeps you warm when its cold, wicks moisture away from your skin, controls odor, doesn’t reflect light, is whisper quiet and most of all is comfortable.  The owners of this company are hard core hunters and were recently recognized at the SHOT Show from the publishers of Grays Sporting Journal for their quality hunting products.

The guys & gals at Arborwear have a passion for making honest, hardworking clothing.  They recently introduced me to their Stretch Tech Pant and after one climb up the mountain in them; I’m convinced that these are the best climbing and hiking pants on the market. All of the stuff that these folks make, are bullet proof as well comfortable.
